Nanodot Technology

The constant research for advanced and innovative solutions giving higher product performance under extreme conditions of application brought J-Teck to develop a new process technology.  It has been named Nanodot Technology as it grants an optimal pigment dispersion thanks to a combined technique of reduction in nano particles together with a process of surface fixation of active ionic polymers of the particles themselves.

The advantages of this new technology are many: improved fluidity of the ink through the printing heads, fast drying on the sublimation paper, better stability during transport and storage.  All these factors undoubtedly improve the performance of the ink with subsequent benefits to the printing heads and the printing system in general.

Hey!  What’s Nanodot Technology in plain English?

First the solid color pigments are reduced to submicron nano particles.  J-Teck is the only manufacturer capable of achieving this level of pigment reduction.  The pigments at this stage look almost like dust.

These nano particles are then suspended in a liquid carrier.  But since they are solid particles, they want to come to together and then sink to the bottom.

The larger the particles, the stronger the attraction to pull together with other like particles, therefore they must be far enough separated to avoid this problem.  The Nanodot particles are much smaller therefore they can be closer together.  You can see how this yields a deeper more even saturation of color throughout the ink.
