Plotter and Feeder Maintenance

Plotter Maintenance

  • Wipers need to be removed and rinsed in clean water every 1 to 2 weeks. Replace old wipers with new wipers if there is any sign of wear or loss of shape.
  • Capping station need to e cleaned with J-Eco Cleaner and cleaning stick (or similar) every week. Replace capping when there is any sign of damage.
  • Dampers need to be replaced per every 10 litres of ink filtered (10 lt 1 damper = 20 lt 1 head), or every 6 months. Whichever comes first.
  • Ink build up needs to be removed from around the print heads with J-Eco Cleaner and cleaning stick (or similar) every 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Heads need to be washed with J-Eco Cleaner putting, every weeks for one night, the cleaner in to the capping (before this operation, close the output tubes near the pumps). The day after (or after the weekend) free the tubes and do a cleaning.

Bulk Feeder Maintenance

  • Gently agitate the J-Eco ink bottle before mounting onto the J-Feeder.
  • J-Eco bottles being used on a J-Teck3 bulk feeder can be un-mouted and re-mounted… but. Keep this activity to a minimum, and DO NOT turn the bottle within the stationary collar as this can cause the spike to shave rubber from the ottle stopper.
  • Have the ink level in the J-Feeder reservoir cups level with the printer head height. This can be fine tuned to each individual environment and printer by moving either up or down in small increments.
  • J-Feeder save operators time and ink. These benefits need
to be balanced with a 6 monthly J-Feeder maintenance schedule
  • Leave cartridges in the printer, and remove J-Eco ink bottles.
  • Remove the collar and unscrew the spikes (make sure the small grub screw is loosened from the spike before trying to unscrew it)
  • Undo 1 reservoir cup (for example Cyan) and position it over a bucket at ground level.
  • Position the printer heads group in a safe and easy to work on position and then turn the printer’s main power off.
  • Remove the dampers from the relevant lines corresponding with the reservoir cup that has been removed. Hold a cup of J-Eco Cleaner and immerse the ink lines in the solution. The ink lines will siphon the cleaning fluid and out of the reservoir cup. Use ONLY J-Eco Cleaner for this operations. Continue to top up the J-Eco Cleaner as required.
  • Clean the reservoir cup, collar and spike in plenty of distilled water and reassemble. Also clean and MAKE SURE the rubber “o ring” seal is present when re-assembling the reservoir cup. Use ONLY distilled water for this operations, NO DETERGENTS.
  • Load ink bottle and allow the reservoir to fill with J-Eco Ink as per normal. When the reservoir cup is full, draw the ink through the ink lines with a syringe until there is a small amount of ink in the syringe, then re-attach the dampers.
